Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 11 September 2026
1. Acceptance of terms
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) are a binding legal agreement between you and [LEGAL ENTITY NAME, e.g. Kareer Score, Inc., a California corporation] (“Kareer Score,” “we,” “us”), operating Kareer Score (“the Platform”) from California, United States. By creating an account, clicking “I agree,” or otherwise using the Platform, you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Platform. You consent to receive these Terms, notices, and disclosures electronically, which satisfies any legal requirement that such communications be in writing.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you represent that you have a parent or legal guardian's permission to use the Platform and that they agree to these Terms on your behalf where required by law. You must also have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract, and you represent that you are not barred from using the Platform under the laws of the United States or any other applicable jurisdiction.
3. What Kareer Score is, and isn't
Kareer Score lets members build a profile that includes scores and references submitted by companies they have worked for, lets companies submit those scores and references and post jobs, and lets recruiters search verified profiles. AI features (resume rating, resume tailoring, job matching, interview coaching) are provided for guidance only, are generated by third-party AI models, may contain errors or inaccuracies, and are not guarantees of employment outcomes, hiring decisions, or accuracy.
Kareer Score is not a consumer reporting agency and the scores, references, and other information on the Platform are not a “consumer report” as defined by the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) or any similar state law. Nothing on the Platform is intended to be used, and must not be used, as a factor in determining eligibility for credit, insurance, or employment in a manner that would require FCRA compliance. Companies and recruiters are solely responsible for complying with all applicable employment, anti-discrimination (including EEOC and state fair-employment laws), and background-check laws in how they use information from the Platform, and must not use the Platform as a substitute for legally required background-check or adverse-action processes.
Job postings must comply with applicable law, including anti-discrimination laws and any state pay transparency requirements (e.g. salary range disclosure). Kareer Score is not a party to, and assumes no responsibility for, any employment relationship, job offer, or hiring decision made through the Platform.
4. Accounts
You must provide accurate information when creating an account and are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your password secure. Accounts are tied to a single role (member, company, or recruiter); platform admin accounts are provisioned directly by us. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
5. Scores, references, reviews & user content
Companies submitting a score or reference for a member confirm that the information reflects a genuine working relationship and their honest, good-faith assessment. Submitting false, defamatory, or retaliatory scores, references, or reviews is prohibited and may result in account termination and legal liability for the person who submitted it. Kareer Score does not independently verify the substantive accuracy of user-submitted content (scores, references, reviews, profiles, or job postings), acts only as a platform hosting content submitted by others, and is not liable for hiring decisions, reputational harm, or any other outcome resulting from reliance on user-submitted content. Members may dispute a score through the Platform's dispute process.
You retain ownership of content you submit. By submitting content, you represent that you have the right to submit it and you grant Kareer Score a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, and process it as needed to operate the Platform, including running it through AI features you use.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Submit false, fraudulent, defamatory, or harassing content (scores, references, reviews, profiles, messages, or job postings)
- Scrape, harvest, or bulk-export data from the Platform without our prior written permission
- Use the Platform to discriminate in hiring on any legally protected basis, or to post job listings that violate employment law
- Upload content that infringes another person's copyright, trademark, privacy, or other legal rights
- Upload malicious code, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Platform or other users' accounts
- Attempt to bypass rate limits, paywalls, security controls, or usage quotas
- Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that could disable, overburden, or impair it
We may remove content, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate this section, at our sole discretion and without prior notice where warranted.
7. Subscriptions, trials & payments
Paid membership (“Premium”) unlocks additional features (unlimited AI usage, priority application placement, and others described on the Premium page). New eligible members receive a 3-month free trial of Premium with no card required; this trial converts to the free tier automatically at the end of the trial period unless you separately choose to add a payment method and subscribe.
Automatic renewal. If you add a payment method and subscribe, your subscription is a continuous, automatically renewing service: it will renew and you will be charged automatically at the then-current price at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual, as selected) until you cancel. Before you subscribe, we will clearly disclose the price, billing frequency, and cancellation method. You can cancel at any time from the Billing page (Manage billing), which is at least as easy as signing up; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you retain access until then. For annual subscriptions, we will send a renewal reminder before you are charged, as required by California law.
Resume-tailoring tokens. Wallet tokens (purchased at $1 each) are a one-time, non-subscription purchase, are consumed as described on the resume tailoring feature, do not expire, and are non-transferable.
Refunds. Fees, including subscription charges and token purchases, are non-refundable except where required by law. See our Refund Policy for full details, including when a refund is available. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us via the Contact page promptly.
8. Third-party services & AI features
The Platform uses third-party service providers, including payment processing (Stripe) and AI models (currently Anthropic's Claude) to power resume rating, resume tailoring, interview coaching, job matching, and related features. Content you submit to these features (e.g. your resume text) is sent to the applicable third-party provider to generate a response; see our Privacy Policy for details. AI-generated output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your situation, and you should independently verify anything important before relying on it.
9. Intellectual property & copyright (DMCA)
The Platform's design, software, and branding are owned by Kareer Score or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property law. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works of the Platform itself without our permission. If you believe content on the Platform infringes your copyright, see our DMCA Policy for how to submit a takedown notice.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, at our discretion. You may delete your account at any time; see the Privacy Policy for how we handle data after deletion. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 3, 5, 9, 11, 12, 13, and 14) will survive.
11. Disclaimers of warranties
The platform and all content, features, and AI-generated output are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any user-submitted content (including scores, references, and reviews) is accurate, complete, or reliable. You use the platform at your own risk.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kareer Score and its officers, employees, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or employment opportunity, arising from or related to your use of the platform, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from these terms or the platform will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) one hundred US dollars ($100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
13. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Kareer Score and its officers, employees, and service providers from any claim, liability, damage, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from or related to: your use of the Platform; content you submit (including scores, references, reviews, and job postings); your violation of these Terms; or your violation of any law or third-party right.
14. Governing law, arbitration & class action waiver
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
Agreement to arbitrate. Except for disputes that qualify for small claims court, or claims for injunctive relief regarding intellectual property or unauthorized access, you and Kareer Score agree that any dispute arising from these Terms or the Platform will be resolved by binding, individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its rules then in effect, rather than in court, except that either party may bring an individual action in small claims court. Arbitration will take place in, or be based on evidence submitted from, [COUNTY, e.g. Los Angeles County], California, unless you and we agree otherwise.
Class action waiver. You and Kareer Score agree that any dispute resolution proceeding will be conducted only on an individual basis and not as a class, consolidated, or representative action.
Right to opt out. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by sending written notice to legal@kareerscore.com within 30 days of first accepting these Terms, stating your name and that you opt out of arbitration. If you opt out, any dispute will instead be resolved in the state or federal courts located in [COUNTY, e.g. Los Angeles County], California, and both parties consent to personal jurisdiction there.
15. General
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Kareer Score regarding the Platform. We are not liable for any failure to perform caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be flagged on this page with an updated date, and where required by law, we will provide additional notice (e.g. email) before a material change affecting an active subscription takes effect.
